ARTIST STATEMENT

The root of my work is Biomorphic in every sense. I seek to infuse playfulness into both my process and the very shape of my sculptures themselves. I am interested in the reduction of all things to their single celled core; amorphis, undefined and seemingly in motion. I believe that the combination of whimsical freeform shapes and precise, symmetrical lines made possible with Computer Aided Machining, is universally appealing. I am intrigued by the blending of traditional art making methods with modern Computer Aided Design.  My intent is to create art that is as familiar as it is provocative.
