James Jenkins grew up in the suburbs of Philadelphia and received his BFA from Guildford College in Greensboro North Carolina. James made a living making custom furniture and building custom houses all over the United states from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Jackson Hole, Wyoming and Santa Cruz, California. James uses a deep history of craftsmanship to make artwork that reflects an attention to detail and a keen eye for context. After playing an integral  in the making of the Cabrillo College Digital Fabrication Maker Space he realized the power of education.  James is currently finishing his MFA at San Jose State University where he is furthering his professional practice and deeping his conceptual base from which he pulls.
